An Embarrassing Experience
I remember an experience that still makes me face-palm as it comes to my mind: I was buying something in my grandma's "sari-sari store" - I could barge into it anytime since I am a relative - when a boy of my age bought something too worth 49 pesos. Then, my grandma asked me to get his fifty-peso bill and give him his change. Back then, I was a rude and ill-mannered child and the majority of the children in our community were my enemies while the rest were my "frenemies". And so I recognized that he was perhaps part of the group of boys whom I hated and thought I must be rude to him. Then when I handed him 11 pesos, he became confused and asked me why it was 11 pesos? I rudely said something like, "What do you want, one peso?". Then after a while, he and my grandma made me realize that I was wrong. To cover up my stupidity and shame, I just said, "Oh, I thought your money was 60 pesos." It was so embarrassing that I can not forget it even up to now. I wonder why I am taking up BS Mathematics now and yet I suck at arithmetic.
